These plastic vernier calipers are provided at near cost as part of the Basic, Design, and Complete packages primarily to get approximate measurements from your PWD Car quickly into the Virtual Race simulator. We now offer this plastic caliper as shown above for sale separately. However, a youngster may need help in using the vernier scale, and in addition these calipers will not reach the accuracy of more expensive machinist-type dial calipers that can cost close to $100.

There is now available, especially for the more advanced PWD builder or teacher, a very precise Digital Precision Caliper that is easy for the youngster to use and reads in inches or metric units as desired. This digital precision caliper should be added to the Basic, Design, or Complete package order as a separate item for those who require the additional benefits provided by more measurement accuracy.
